"Every Knee Shall Bow"

Phillipians 2:10-11

At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

In these difficult Last Days of the Church Age, when it so often appears that the Church has simply lost its way, and that the Devil is winning on every hand, it is incumbent upon every Christian to occasionally take a peek out over the horizon and see the reality that Jesus Christ has already won the war. We are one the winning side! The Devil is a defeated foe, and he is going to get what is coming to him very soon! The only reason that we continue to labor under the gun-sights of the enemy is because Jesus is currently exercising his loving patience and longsuffering toward a lost and dying world. During this present span of time called the Church Age, God is allowing lost people a “space” or an allotted time (age of grace) to accept or reject his Son's victory over this world.

This present life is not where our goals, hopes and dreams and fulfillment are to be found. God's purpose for all men is to regain their lost humanity and become whole persons who will live forever in a new creation. It is not for this life only that God is preparing us, but for something far more glorious and splendid. In fact he has gone away presently to prepare that new place. This is all made possible, not by our best efforts, nor by our conquering the world but by the grace and mercy Jesus Christ has already lavished upon us and is ready to supply anew if we will but ask him to. It won't be too long before both you and I step out of time and into eternity, either through the gate of death or via the rapture call. And when we arrive in eternity, the saints who preceded us in death by a hundred or a thousand or two thousand years won't say to us, "What took you so long?" They'll be just like us, new arrivals in eternity, staring googgle-eyed in amazement at the unimaginable wonders God has prepared for us.

Even the Devil and his angels are aware of God's invincibility.

James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

Oh yes, the Devil is destined soon to be all knotted up tight in chains and cast into a bottomless pit! (Revelation 20:1-3) That is one reason why he doesn't want anybody to read and study the book of The Revelation! He doesn't want anybody to know that he is a big-time loser! There is a story in Matthew 8:28-32 about an occasion when Jesus cast devils out of a possessed man. Their reaction to a confrontation with Jesus speaks volumes.

Matthew 8:29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

So, we see that even the minions of hell realize that their rebellion is lost. They fear the day that Christ will finally render judgment and condemn them to everlasting torment. So it will be even for the powers of this present world, that oppresses and harasses the child of God. The Antichrist will not win, the powers of darkness will not prevail. They shall all eventually bow the knee and confess that Jesus Christ is King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

Romans 14:10-12 For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

Isaiah 45:22-23 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

So, let us all keep the faith, be sober and vigilant in our course as Christ's servants, because we serve not only a savior, but also a conquering, returning and omnipotent King.

Revelation 5:13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
