Is Iran Hiding Bin Laden?

July 3….(Geo-Strategy) Western intelligence agencies suspect that Osama bin Laden and his sons have regularly been traveling to Iran for meetings with the al-Qaida leadership, reports intelligence newsletter Geostraegy-Direct. Intelligence sources said the bin Ladens have been shuttling from Afghanistan into the Iranian frontier, holding strategic sessions, relaying orders and then leaving. The sources say that the government of Iran has been aware of Bin Laden's activity. FOJ reported in December of 2001 that Bin Laden had been in Iran, and had been assisted with travel courtesies by the Iranian government.

Israel is Losing the West Bank

July 3….(FOJ) In 1967 and 1973, Israel acquired the area commonly known as the West Bank, when Egypt, Syria, Jordan and others invaded tiny Israel. In the years thereafter, Israel attempted to establish settlements in the area to accommodate a great influx of Jewish immigrants, and to lay claim to the land that they had won in defensive wars. But, according to a recently published survey by the Jewish Policy Planning Institute, in the year 2015 there will be more Arabs than Jews living between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. (the so-called occupied territory) There are presently 3.5 million Palestinian Arabs living in the West Bank. Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, who for many years as the architect and the ardent supporter of the Jewish settlement enterprise in the West Bank labored to bring Jews to the West Bank in order to win the demographics war. His belief in the military importance of these areas to Israel was augmented by his strong conviction that Jews have the right to settle anywhere in the land of Israel. But, unfortunately for Israel, that demographic front is all but lost, due to international pressure to concede the territory, and to an influx of Arabs with a much higher birth rate. And now, with the Quartet sponsored Roadmap being forced down Israel's throat without anything being done about PLO terrorism, even Ariel Sharon is now referring to the West Bank as an occupied area, that cannot be controlled by Israel simply because of the presence of so many Palestinians. Israel is still learning the hard lessons of trusting in God for the fulfillment of the Palestinic land Covenant. Because Israel is still blinded to the reality of her Messiah, and failing to trust in Jehovah for her salvation, Israel will soon face a mortal threat from those who hate her. America's Motto in 1776

July 4….(FOJ) This year marks 227 years since our Founding Fathers gave us our National Birth Certificate. America continues to be the longest on-going Christian Constitutional Republic in the history of the world. Blessings such as these are not by chance nor by accident. They are blessings of God, bestowed upon a founding people that sought to serve him. The inscription atop America's Liberty Bell reads from Leviticus 25:10: “Proclaim liberty throughout the land and to all the inhabitants thereof”. What was the basis for American liberty? John Adams said, “The general principles on which the American Fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity.” “It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty”. John Adams further stated that the Fourth of July should become a religious holiday, a day when we remember God's hand in deliverance and a day of religious activities when we commit ourselves to Him in "solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty." Such was the spirit of the American Revolution as seen through the eyes of those who led it, 227 years ago. The spiritual emphasis manifested so often by the Americans during the Revolution caused one Crown-appointed British governor to write to Great Britain complaining that: “If you ask an American who is his master, he'll tell you he has none. And he has no governor but Jesus Christ”. Letters like this, and sermons like those preached by the Reverend Peter Powers (“Jesus Christ the King”), gave rise to a motto of the American Revolution. Most of us are unaware that the American Revolution even had a motto, but most wars do (e.g., World War II – “Remember Pearl Harbor”; the Texas' war for independence – “Remember the Alamo”; etc.). The motto of the American Revolution was directed against King George III, who concapriciously, and regularly violated “the laws of nature and of nature's God”. The motto of America's founding Fathers was very simple and very direct: No King but King Jesus! America, lets go back today to July 4, 1776, and remember that our liberty comes from Jesus Christ.

US Trying to Buy Palestinian Popular Support

July 4….(FOJ) Under agreements that the Bush Administration has worked out with the PA/PLO/Hamas for going along with the roadmap cease-fire, the US is planning to provide hundreds of millions of dollars in aid directly to the Palestinian Authority. This action amounts to transferring U.S. taxpayers' dollars directly to the corrupt Arafat-led terrorist regime in an attempt to dissect the Hamas organization from popular public opinion as the best benefactor the Palestinians have. The aid package would begin with $300-million in CIA training and assistance, which will help build up the PA's terrorist "security forces." Additional direct aid to the PA could reach as high as $1-billion in the coming year. The PA regime under Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) has failed to halt violence, arrest terrorists, confiscate weapons, and stop inciting hatred and murder of Israelis in their school books, television, radio, newspapers, speeches, and religious sermons by PA-appointed clerics. The PA is continuing to teach its people that Israel has no right to even exist. The Road Map stipulates that the PA must "confront and dismantle the terrorist infrastructure," yet the PA not only has failed to take any such actions, but new Prime Minister Abbas says that he will never do so. Yet, the Bush Administration believes that US tax dollars are needed to pull the Palestinians away from terror towards democracy. The US is hoping that the same philosophy will work in Iraq, but it is a shortsighted idea that is basically a surrender of the American war on terror.

Vatican: ''Road Map'' Needs ''Friendly Presence'' in Mid-east

July1….(Zenit) The Vatican believes that a "friendly presence" is necessary in the Middle East to make possible the implementation of the "road map" for peace. Israelis and Palestinians must be helped to "talk with one another, and to look at one another around a common table," the Vatican secretary for relations with states, Archbishop Jean-Louis Tauran, said on Monday. Among other objectives, the so-called road map, sponsored by the United States, the European Union, Russia and the United Nations, calls for the declaration of a sovereign Palestinian state. The plan constitutes "notable progress, due to the commitment of the United States," and is an "example of how the international community can work in a unitary manner," Archbishop Tauran said. Israel Might Consider 'One-Way Trip' For Arafat

July 2….(Jerusalem Post) Israel would consider any request from Palestinian President Yasser Arafat to move to Gaza, Israeli officials said Tuesday. But if Arafat were allowed to leave the West Bank, "it would most likely be a one-way trip," an official said. Israeli troops have isolated Arafat for months at his compound in Ramallah. A lifting of the siege and free movement for Arafat were among the demands by the militant groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad and Arafat's Fatah movement when they declared a cease-fire against Israeli targets Sunday. The issue was discussed during a meeting Tuesday between Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas, officials said. Sharon said that world leaders concerned about Arafat's welfare could pick him up by helicopter anytime, but that he could not take anyone with him, and "it is going to be a one-way ticket."

B US Invades Syria!--(Temporarily)

July 2….(Debka) US commando unit attacked a convoy inside Syria on June 18. US officials have admitted that the American Task Force 20 pursued part of the convoy across the Iraqi border into Syria. In fact, the subsequent clash, in which five Syrian border guards were captured, occurred at the Syrian border post of Abu Kamal, just 365 miles south of Damascus. The convoy was destroyed. The Syrian army unit accompanying the convoy sufferred between 25 and 30 dead in their first encounter with US combatants. Syrian president Bashar Assad and Syrian military chiefs monitored the incident from the war room of general headquarters in Damascus. Assad even ordered ground troops to fight the Americans but was wary of an air engagement and halted all Syrian military traffic when US warplanes crossed into his country's airspace. The elite Task Force 20 set up to hunt down Saddam Hussein and his sons Uday and Qusay and unearth Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. Both these missions necessitated the deep thrusts into Syria, for which Pentagon authority has been given in the border regions. US commandos laid in wait for senior officers of the deposed Saddam regime on their way to and from Syria, a path well trodden since in the end of the war, and seek leads to Iraq's unconventional weapons where the task force's commanders believe them to be stashed: in western Iraq, northern Syria and eastern Lebanon. Task Force 20 commanders are also aware that prohibited weapons have been transported through secret paths between Syria and Iraq. Although the US military controls Baghdad and other major Iraqi cities, the “iron triangle” between Iraq and Syria remains under the control of about 2 million Syrian Bedouin and Iraqi Sunni Arab tribesmen, all hostile to the American presence.

Senator Frist Says Marriage is Sacred

July 1….(Fox News) Senate majority leader Bill Frist, Republican of Tennessee said the Supreme Court's decision last week on gay sex threatens to make the American home a place where criminality is condoned. Senator Frist also said that he supported a proposed constitutional amendment to ban homosexual marriage in the United States. The Senator also added that he was concerned that the zone of privacy that we all want protected in our own homes is gradually becoming a place where real criminal activity within the home could in some way be condoned, and become a safe-house for prostitution, child molestation/pornography and even drug activity. Asked whether he supported an amendment that would ban any marriage in the United States except a union of a man and a woman, Frist said: "I absolutely do, of course I do. "I very much feel that marriage is a sacrament, and that institution should be limited to a man and a woman.”

Temple Mount Reopens to Non-Muslim Visitors!

July 1….(Ha Aretz) Jews are once again visiting the holiest site in Judaism. Israeli police have begun to allow non-Muslims, under police escort, to enter the Temple Mount grounds in the Old City of Jerusalem, despite threats of violence by Muslim leaders. About two weeks ago, Interior Security Minister Tzachi Hanegbi announced Jews would soon be allowed on the Temple Mount, "even if no agreement is reached with the Waqf." The Waqf is the Muslim Religious Trust, a group of Islamic clerics appointed to administer the site by the Palestinian Authority's Yasser Arafat. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon reportedly expressed skepticism about the plan to renew Temple visitations by non-Muslims. In the fall of 2001, Sharon visited the site, an event some cite as the catalyst for the outbreak of the intifada, or uprising. The Temple Mount was subsequently closed to Jews and Christians. According to Haaretz, police officers didn't wait for an agreement to be worked out with the Waqf. Instead, officers stationed at the Western Wall began, in the last few days, to escort groups of tourists on visits to the grounds of the mosques at the site. Although preparations for visits by non-Muslims to the Temple Mount were being made for several days, Waqf Director Adnan Husseini heard for the first time only yesterday that Israeli police were actually bringing in visitors to what has been described as the most explosive piece of real estate in the world. Husseini called the decision a grave violation of trust by Israel. The Temple Mount is the area that served as the foundation for the First and Second Temples. The Second Temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD. The temples were the centers of Jewish worship in ancient Israel. Tradition places Abraham's near-sacrifice of Isaac on this hill. For Christians, this is where Jesus walked and preached.

Oddly, since recapturing the Temple Mount in the 1967 Six-Day War, the secular government of Israel has granted administrative authority over the holy site to a group of the Waqf. Jews and non-Jews who attempt to visit the site are frequently harassed, even attacked. The reaction to the Israeli announcement has been predictably strong. Ahmed Abdel Rahman, a senior political adviser to Arafat, said: "This could be the trigger for the third intifada. How else can we interpret the stupidity of Israel's police minister?" The Palestinian Authority mufti in Jerusalem, Ikrimah Sabri, warned a "bloodbath" would result from such an action.

America to Build Super Weapons

July 1….(Guardian) The Pentagon is planning a new generation of weapons, including huge hypersonic drones and bombs dropped from space, that will allow the US to strike its enemies at lightning speed from its own territory. Over the next 25 years, the new technology would free the US from dependence on forward bases and the cooperation of regional allies, part of the drive towards self-sufficiency spurred by the difficulties of gaining international cooperation for the invasion of Iraq. The new weapons are being developed under a program code-named Falcon (Force Application and Launch from the Continental US). A US defense web-site earlier this month invited bids from contractors to develop the technology and the current edition of Jane's Defense Weekly reports that the first flight tests are scheduled to take place within three years. According to the web-site run by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (Darpa) the program is aimed at fulfilling "the government's vision of an ultimate prompt global reach capability (circa 2025 and beyond)".

Baptist Church in Tennessee Supports Lesbian Pastor

June 30….(FOJ) Nashville's Glendale Baptist Church elected April Baker, an open lesbian as associate pastor of their Church recently. The election of the lesbian pastor has highlighted the national interdenominational controversy about Gay/Lesbians in Churches, and now especially as they are more and more being nominated as pastors of congregations. "In having a homosexual or lesbian minister, the Glendale Church is clearly endorsing homosexual behavior, and thus have defined themselves outside of the Southern Baptist Convention," said Richard Land, president of the SBC's public policy arm. When the search for an associate pastor turned up two of three candidates who disclosed they were lesbian, Glendale church leaders saw no problem with her lesbianism and took the matter to the congregation. The church decided to pick the best candidate for the job, regardless of sexual orientation. Stewart Clifton, a lay leader in the church said, We didn't see it as some great courageous step, we saw it simply as a step of simple decency. You don't ask people to apply for pastor, and then based on something they have no control over, say sorry this thing will disqualify you. Baker, a 39-year-old graduate of the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C., has worked as a counselor to women felons but never before held a minister's job. She lives quietly with her lesbian partner. When asked about the controversy over her sexual orientation, she frowned and paused several moments. She said the Southern Baptist denomination has "terribly wounded" gay people!

Cease-fire is a Victory for Hamas

June 30….(FOJ) Palestinian terrorists perpetrated yet another murderous shooting attack today, just minutes after the cease-fire was announced in Gaza. The terror attack claimed the life of a foreign worker from Bulgaria. It occurred near Kalkilye, where Raskov Karisto, 45, was engaged in helping to pave a bypass road. The Al Aqsa Martyrs of Arafat's Fatah organization immediately claimed responsibility for the murder. (yes-that's right, Yasser Arafat orchestrated the breaking of the cease-fire) Arafat's claim of terror move is actually a boon to save Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Under the guidelines of the cease-fire, Israel will not even be able to take simple preventative actions on behalf of its citizens against Hamas without being portrayed as having violated the agreement. Does anyone even remember that the Road Map stipulates that the PA is supposed to dismantle the Islamic terrorist organizations, something new PA Prime Minister Abbas says is unthinkable until Israel retreats from virtual existence. Hamas and Islamic Jihad are now in the position of having a safe haven to regroup while other PLO terrorists thugs take over the dirty work, and allow Hamas to regroup, away from Israeli reprisals. Hamas is the judge of whether Israel is fulfilling or violating the agreement, and Hamas will decide when and how the cease-fire is to end. The three months in which Israel's hands will be tied will enable Hamas to rebuild its military infrastructures and its underground cells that were greatly damaged, and to disseminate weapons." The Bush Administration is not playing dead, however. As a way of offsetting the influence of Hamas within the Palestinian public, the U.S. is planning to invest hundreds of millions of dollars in the PA areas, in hospitals, roads, and humanitarian aid. U.S. National Security Advisor Condoleeza Rice informed PA Finance Minister Salam Fayad and Ariel Sharon's aide Dov Weisglass of the news yesterday morning during her one-day visit to Israel. The goal is to negate the conception that only Hamas takes care of the PA public. The US is undertaking the same strategy in Iraq, hoping that money and democracy will placate the Iraqi's and the Palestinians. (Could it be that God is allowing America to become entrapped in the Euphrates-PLO quicksand of terror?)

America Facing an Intifada Too?

June 30….(G2 World Net) Almost daily attacks on U.S. soldiers in Iraq are taking their toll. Has Iraq become a quagmire? Has Washington miscalculated the costs of liberating Iraq? Has the U.S. become engulfed in an "Iraqifada"? That's what some intelligence experts and security analysts are calling the emerging guerrilla war in Iraq, linking it with Israel's protracted battle with Palestinian terrorists for the last three years. America, in believing it can win the hearts and minds of Iraqis by improving their quality of life and public services, could well find itself experiencing the same complications Israel has with the Palestinians. Israel, which in the years between 1967 and the beginning of the first Intifada, or Palestinian uprising, in 1986, is an example of the futility of such goodwill policies. Israel spent billions improving the quality of life and public services in Judea, Samaria and Gaza. It may have been the humanitarian thing to do, but it had no impact on anti-Israeli Palestinians, who opted for terrorism instead of appreciation. Experts on the military rule of occupied territories agree that a humanitarian approach is a must, but add it should never undermine the military approach to terrorism and guerrilla warfare. Counter-terror and counter-insurgency analysts believe the situation in Iraq is steadily moving to guerrilla warfare and especially to the most complicated style of this kind of war, namely urban guerrilla. Analysts say the more coalition troops continue to confront hostile religious, ideological and intelligence elements, the more Iraq will become destabilized. Pope: My Priests are Forbidden to Marry

June 30….(UPI) Pope John Paul II Saturday reaffirmed Catholic priests must remain celibate. In a document issued by the Vatican, the Pope said he has no intention of changing the celibacy rule, despite numerous sex scandals involving priests. The Pope said celibacy symbolizes a priest's undivided love for God and his people, Voice of America reported. The sex scandals that have rocked the Church have led to some calling for a lifting of the ban. There had also been talk of relaxing the stringent rules in an effort to boost recruitment of new priests. But in the 134-page "Ecclessia in Europe," the pope said lifting the celibacy law would not be productive. The document also called upon the European Union to include a reference to Christianity in its proposed constitution. Opponents, however, say any such inclusion would offend the millions of European Muslims, VOA said.

Hamas, Islamic Jihad Join Temporary Cease-fire

June 30….(Jerusalem Post) Hamas and Islamic Jihad issued a joint statement earlier in the day announcing that they are immediately suspending "all military operations against the Zionist enemy" for three months. Meanwhile, Israeli forces completed a pullback from the northern Gaza town of Beit Hanoun and handed security control of the area to the Palestinian Authority under the disengagement deal. Albeit, the PA warned that the decision for a cease-fire was contingent upon Israel's acceptance of a number of other conditions. The statement, issued in the Gaza Strip, said these conditions include an "immediate cessation of all forms of Zionist aggression against our Palestinian people, including incursions, demolitions, closures, and sieges on cities, villages, and refugee camps." Entitled "Statement of Initiative," it listed several other conditions. These include the lifting of the siege imposed on Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat. It warned that "in the event that the enemy does not heed these conditions and commitments, or breaches any of them, we see ourselves unencumbered by this initiative and we hold the enemy responsible for the consequences." Arafat's Fatah movement later joined the cease-fire, saying it had accepted an Egyptian call for a six-month truce and issuing a similar statement to that of Hamas and Islamic Jihad. This doesn't mean that Hamas has recognized Israel's right to exist," Hamas leader Mahmoud Zahar said shortly after the statement was made public. Israel is a temporary phenomenon and it will have to go. This is even mentioned in the holy book."

Gays-Lesbians: Coming Out Day in America

June 30….(AP) Hundreds of thousands of homosexuals and supporters took to American streets Sunday for Gay Pride parades, energized by the Supreme Court's ruling that struck down laws against sodomy and a decision by Canada to allow gay marriage. In New York, Atlanta, Seattle, San Francisco and other cities, revelers marched, danced and carried banners congratulating the Supreme Court for its landmark ruling as rainbow flag-waving crowds lined the streets Chicago's parade drew between 375,000 and 400,000 people, according to parade coordinator Richard Pfeiffer. Organizers of the Atlanta Pride Festival, now in its 33rd year, said they expected a crowd of 300,000, the largest in the parade's history. The ruling was cited as a factor in the big turnout. Sen. Charles Schumer, D-New York, took note of how much the political landscape for gays and lesbians had changed with a few short days. "Let's hear it for gay pride," Schumer shouted!
