The Perpetual Hatred of Israel

      Just after the July Camp David Summit meeting between Clinton-Barak-Arafat, I included as a side article in the monthly circulation of the "Focus on Jerusalem" newsletter; a brief commentary on what I described as, "The Perpetual Hatred of Israel".

      That commentary was based upon the prophetic warnings of the Old Testament prophet Ezekiel. He, gave voice to the extreme displeasure of God which he had diagnosed within the hearts and minds of certain particular nations of peoples concerning a deep rooted feeling of resentment, and the inward harboring of a prolonged and ongoing hatred for the children of Israel.

      Ezekiel lent his voice to pronounce that God had evaluated all of history and concluded that he was against the nations of Mt. Seir, Gog, Magog, Meschech, and Tubal. Imagine if you can, the God of all creation examining the historical makeup of a nation and remarking; "I am against thee". Yet we have exactly these remarks by God almighty in the opening lines of Ezekiel chapters 35, 38 and 39 which point out the fact that God has affixed his vengeance upon them, and specifically during the latter days.

      While most prophecy enthusiasts are certainly well acquainted with Ezekiel chapter 37, and its vision regarding the valley of dry bones; which is followed by chapters 38 and 39 concerning the prospective Russian assault upon the mountains of Israel; prophetic writers today rarely see the connecting element to today’s end-time climactic events portrayed in Ezekiel chapter 35.

      Ezekiel 35:1-2 Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Son of Man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it;

      And say unto it, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, O Mt. Seir, I am against thee, and I will make thee most desolate.

      Here, God charges that he is against the Mt. Seir inhabitants. Ezekiel was instructed by God to make known his prophecy against them. God further says that he will stretch out his hand against them, and will leave them in a most desolate condition.

      Why did God make this drastic announcement? To whom is it against? What was it that these lands were guilty of that would cause a just God to react by saying that he was against them?

      I don't know about you, but if God were to say that he was against me; I would be down upon my knees beseeching him for forgiveness for whatever reason that had caused him to be against me. God is a God of love and mercy, but he also cannot let unrighteousness and sin go unpunished. Vengeance belongeth unto the Lord alone. It should always be the ever constant prayer and desire of ones heart to please God, and obey his commands, lest he fall to the position of having God being against him.

      Ezekiel conveys that the reason God was against Mt. Seir was because they had carried a "Perpetual Hatred", against his people; the children of Israel. A sure and certain way to antagonize God is to shed the blood of his people. God stipulated in Genesis 12: 3 that all nations that cursed Israel would find a curse dealt back upon them. God's blessings for all nations is forever tied into the international-family relationships a nation has with Israel.

      Ezekiel 35:5 Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end.

      Therefore as I live saith the Lord God, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: because thou hast not hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee.

      This is a blood for blood promise!

      The word "perpetual" means, lasting for eternity; or continuing for an indefinite but long duration of history. It means to ceaselessly endeavor without any change in attitude, or purpose, to carry through on whatever particular design one has.

      The particular passion in the mind of the nation of Mt. Seir was hatred for the children of Israel. The overwhelming and consuming hate which they kept harbored within their soul for the children of Israel caused them to revel in spilling the blood of Jacob, and the children of Israel, which was their brethren.

      God diagnosed their hatred as being a perpetual state of intense animosity. Their blatant jubilation in shedding the blood of the children of Israel required God to forecast the shedding of their own blood in the future days when God would restore his people back into their rightful domicile, and proceeding into the dreadful day of Calamity. (Era of Jacob's trouble)

      God prophesies through Ezekiel that the shedding of the blood of Israel through demonic inspired hate shall result in the blood pursuing the perpetrators of blood-letting! For this reason; God announced that he was against these people.

      Mount Seir was the land of Edom, the ancient land of Esau, the brother of Jacob. His descendents were the the children of Ammon and Moab which during Old Testament times sought to dispossess the children of Israel of the promised land that was their inheritance from God. ( II Chronicles 20:7-12 )

      And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;

      Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come and cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit O our God, wilt thou not judge them?

      God instructed King Jehoshaphat that this battle between the children of Israel and the children of Mt. Seir was in fact the Lord's battle. Though greatly outnumbered, the Lord lay ambush for Mt. Seir and enabled the children of Israel to prevail over their numerous enemies, and possess the city of Jerusalem.

      The historic example of Moab, Ammon, and Seir serves as a paradigm for all blood-letters of Israel. It can be rightfully asserted that the modern day fight between Israel and the Palestinian peoples over the promised land and the city of Jerusalem will once again be the Lord's battle!

      That old Hatred of Israel that was personified in those ancient nations is once again today raising its ugly head in the Arab nations that surround Israel, and for the very same reasons that was paramount in Old testament history.

      In the past few weeks as I have continued daily to watch the astonishing and horrific events which have been transpiring in Israel, and all throughout the Arab world, my mind has been awestruck with a spiritual sensitivity of the supernatural battle which is obviously going on behind the scenes which are constantly flashing before our eyes.

      I am spiritually and inwardly remembering that the Great Red Dragon of the Tribulational era will utilize the demonic super-crazed venomous rhetoric of hatred that this world perpetually exhibits for the nation of Israel in his all-out attempts to annihilate the children of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph.

      The publicized lynching of two Israeli Reservists on October 11th seemed to vividly demonstrate the inexplicable blood-letting hatred towards Israel that is personified in the verses of Ezekiel 35. It seemed to me that there was an additional demonic entity of extreme evil, present at that scene lusting for all the blood it could spill. There just simply isn't any civilized reason for explaining the animalistic type of brutalistic and sadistic blood-letting utilized by the perpetrators in those killings. Exulting with joy over mutilating a corpse is not normal behavior! All terrorist acts are intended to frighten or intimidate enemies, but to dance with blood on your hands is evil beyond definition.

      It must be stated herewith that killing is always an evil act, irregardless of the identity of the victim, but the hatred that leads one to the sadism of any act of bloodletting is especially Devilish in concept!

      Blood-letting may be defined as an act of terror which indiscriminately is planned to shed the blood of anyone associated with the identity of the people which is held in scorn; either for revenge, or even for the sheer joy of killing. Blood-letters get a thrill out of seeing the blood flow from those they hate!
